Special Events and Announcements
Attention: Because of the parking situation and the full scale construction operation here at St. James, we ask everyone to please drive with caution. There are adults, as well as children making there way around cars going to and from the church who could be severely injured if gone unnoticed. Thank you for your cooperation.
This week’s second collection, the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. supports missions here in the United States. There are many places in America where the Catholic Church struggles just to keep parishes open and to educate children in the faith. Last year, Home Missions gave more than $3 million to the dioceses along the Gulf Coast devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. But Catholic parishes in rural America still struggle to offer Mass, the sacraments, religious education. Some dioceses are terribly short of priests, sisters, and the money needed to run parishes. Please give generously to assist fellow Catholics here in America.
St. James will be working The Good Samaritan Center on Tuesdays, August 21st and 28th and on Fridays August 17th, 24th, and 31st. All of you who volunteered, please sign the sheet as you leave the church to indicate which days you are going to work. We need a minimum of 6 workers each day. THANK YOU!
